She built me up and put up with my quirks.
She was open of heart … free from cunning,
And put one foot in front of the other.
How can two launch from humble beginning?
Why take journey not joined by another?
Bubbly effervescent champagne!
With sincere heart, a volunteer unchained.
She a looker? Well she wasn’t quite plain!
“Look me up in the phone book,” she explained.
A nerdy guy, oblivious my style.
Her smile! I took a chance, made the dial.
